# Motion Skills > A curated library of 96 motion-graphics, video and narrated-deck skills for coding agents (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI), plus free ready-to-paste Claude Motion prompts. 22 skills are free. Independent site at https://claude-motion.com, not affiliated with Anthropic. ## What it is - A **skill** is a folder with a SKILL.md and a template that teaches a coding agent one kind of video: a launch film, an animated chart, captions, a logo sting, a narrated presentation. - The agent fills in your words, numbers and brand colors, checks its own frames, and renders an MP4 **on your computer** with open-source engines (HyperFrames or Remotion). No credits, no cloud render, no API key. - Every skill page has a preview video, the latest check, what the download includes, what the skill is a good fit for and not for, an install prompt, an example prompt and a matching **Claude Motion prompt** for people on Claude Team or Enterprise. - Template skills ship with five tested color themes (ink, paper, electric, noir, sand) and every listed format (16:9, 9:16, 1:1). - Template skills can add original music and sound effects, synthesized in code and timed to the animation (moods: soft, pulse, effects only). Royalty-free, no downloads, no API key. ## Three shelves - **Motion Launch** (https://claude-motion.com/launch): product launches, feature drops, release notes, brand stings. Workflow: project-to-launch (reads the repository or site). - **Motion Creator** (https://claude-motion.com/creator): explainers, data stories, shorts, captions, titles, transitions. Workflows: explainer-director, data-to-video, script-to-short, animated-captions. - **Motion Deck** (https://claude-motion.com/narrated-presentations): a document turned into a narrated, interactive slide deck and an MP4. Workflow: doc-to-narrated-deck. - **motion-director** (free) makes a short video from one sentence with shots from every shelf. ## How to use it 1. Start with **motion-director** (free): it makes a whole short video from one sentence, with a storyboard first. For a repository, a spreadsheet, an article or a script, the specialized premium workflows go further (project-to-launch, data-to-video, explainer-director, script-to-short). Or pick any skill at https://claude-motion.com/skills (or read https://claude-motion.com/skills.md). 2. Paste its install prompt into the agent, for example: `Read https://claude-motion.com/skills/kpi-counter/install.md and follow the instructions to install the "kpi-counter" skill, then run it once with its example prompt.` 3. Ask for the video in plain language. The agent renders the MP4 locally. Skill folders: Claude Code `~/.claude/skills//`; Codex `~/.agents/skills//`; Cursor `.cursor/skills//`; Gemini CLI `~/.gemini/skills//`. ## Price in one line 22 skills are free with a Google sign-in, including motion-director. Premium skills (the specialized workflows and premium shots) cost $4.99 each, once, or unlock all with one plan: $9.99/month, $69/year, or $129 once (founding lifetime). If you do have Claude Motion, each skill also gives you a matching prompt. **Can I buy just one skill?** Yes. Every premium skill can be bought on its own for $4.99, paid once, and it stays yours with its updates. If you need more than a couple, a plan costs less. **Do free skills need an account?** Free skills cost nothing, but you sign in with Google before you download, save or copy. No card needed. **Can I cancel?** Anytime. You keep access until the end of the paid period. Payments are non-refundable. **What is the founding lifetime plan?** One payment of $129 for permanent access to every premium skill, including new skills and updates. There's no subscription to renew. It's a founding price and will go up as the library grows. Page: https://claude-motion.com/pricing · Terms: https://claude-motion.com/terms --- Every skill in the library clears the same bar before it's listed. This page is that bar, written down so you can hold us to it. ## 1. Every skill does a job you have The library is built around jobs: turn a project into a launch video, notes into an explainer, a spreadsheet into a data video, a script into a short, a document into a narrated deck. Workflow skills do those jobs end to end. Shots and styles exist to serve them, and each one says where it fits. We don't list effects for their own sake. ## 2. A finished video comes first We start from a result we'd publish ourselves, then write the instructions and templates that let an agent make it again. Every preview is a real render: a template's own output, or a workflow run on sample material. Previews are rendered from the same download you get, from its own example, and rendered again whenever the template changes. ## 3. One idea per shot Each shot says one thing. It builds in, makes its point and settles on a clean final frame, so it cuts straight into a longer video. ## 4. Motion with restraint Eased movement, staggered entrances and a clear order of attention. Motion points at the content instead of competing with it, and nothing moves just to look busy. ## 5. Type and color as a system Every template draws on one shared kit of fonts and easing, so skills look like they belong together. Colors come from five tested themes, and you can set your own accent, background and text color, or set your brand once and every skill uses it. Chinese, Japanese and Korean text works out of the box. ## 6. Built for every format it lists When a skill lists 16:9, 9:16 and 1:1, the layout is designed for each one. It reflows rather than shrinking a landscape frame into a vertical one. ## 7. One install, nothing else to pay for A skill runs with Node.js, FFmpeg and Chrome on your own computer. No API keys, no credits, no accounts with other services and no extra licenses. Your material and your data stay on your machine. ## 8. Checked before it's listed, rechecked when things change Before a skill goes live we render it and review frames at the key moments. Templates also pass the HyperFrames check (lint, runtime, layout, motion and contrast) in all five themes and every format they list. Workflows are tested end to end on sample material of the kind they take: an article, a code repository, a spreadsheet, a short script or a talking-head clip. The final question is always the same: could this video be posted without changes? Each skill page shows the date of its latest check. Every listed skill is also tested the way you get it: unzipped from its download and run through its own SKILL.md example and gates. We also score each skill from 1 to 5 on visual quality, stability and how easy it is to customize. A skill needs at least a 4 on visual quality and stability to be listed. ## 9. Your agent checks its work, and never makes things up Every SKILL.md tells your agent to look at its own frames before the final render and fix what's cut off or crowded; the director workflows show you a storyboard to approve first. Numbers, quotes, names and claims come from your material only; when something can't be sourced, the agent says so instead of inventing it. Three gates back that up: the HyperFrames check, a layout check (text inside the frame, not cut off, covered or printed over other text) and a pixel check on the rendered video. Each scene also runs as long as its words need, about 0.3 seconds a word, measured rather than guessed. ## 10. Honest credits and clear limits When a skill adapts open-source code, the page names the project and its license ships in the download. When a template only learned from a project, we say that instead. A skill can take after a well-known style, but templates never ship another company's logo or trademarked assets, or a pixel-for-pixel copy of a real app's interface. Every skill page also says what the skill is not for, and points to a better skill when there is one. Questions, or a skill that doesn't meet this bar? Write to hi@claude-motion.com. Page: https://claude-motion.com/standard · Overview: https://claude-motion.com/index.md --- # All skills, in full ### Motion Director - Page: https://claude-motion.com/skills/motion-director · Install: https://claude-motion.com/skills/motion-director/install.md - free · Explainer · hyperframes · 16:9, 9:16, 1:1 · 10–90s - Last checked: 2026-10-15 The closest thing to Claude Motion in your own agent. It asks what the video is for, picks a proven structure (launch, explainer, data story, social short, announcement, tutorial), casts every shot from a library of 78 animated shots, shows you a storyboard before rendering, and renders an MP4 with music. Ask for changes in plain words and only the changed shots render again. 19 shots come bundled and free. Good fit: A short animated video from an idea, notes or numbers; Launches, explainers, data stories and social shorts in one consistent look. Not for: Editing camera footage; Videos longer than about 90 seconds. Example prompt: Use the motion-director skill: a 20-second launch video for our 2.0 release, 16:9, from the notes in CHANGELOG.md. Claude Motion prompt: Make a 20-second 16:9 launch video for [who will watch, e.g. our existing users], playing [where, e.g. muted in the X and LinkedIn feed]. Use only the release notes and numbers I attach; don't invent features or change a number. Electric dark style, upbeat pace. Scene 1: a bold hook line. Scene 2: the product on screen. Scene 3: the three biggest changes tick off one by one. Scene 4: two headline numbers count up. End frame: product name, one call to action and the URL, held for 2 seconds. Attach: [your release notes or changelog] Hook: [one line, e.g. "Release notes nobody reads? Not anymore."] Call to action: [e.g. "Update today"] ### Project → Launch Video - Page: https://claude-motion.com/skills/project-to-launch · Install: https://claude-motion.com/skills/project-to-launch/install.md - premium · Launch · hyperframes · 16:9, 9:16, 1:1 · 15–25s - Last checked: 2026-10-14 Point it at the project you're working on, or at a website. It reads the code or the live site, picks an angle and a two-second hook, rebuilds the product doing its job (the cursor types, clicks and results appear), adds the project's own claims and an end card in its brand colors, scores it with original music, and renders a 15–25 s MP4 with a poster frame and a share caption. Four tones: default, polished, chaotic, deadpan. Also works from a pull request or a release: pick a feature, fix, refactor or roll-up story. Good fit: Launching a side project or a new app; A launch post for X, LinkedIn or Product Hunt. Not for: Long product tours or tutorials; Projects you can't show on screen. Inputs: product, hook, tagline, logo, flowLabel, flowInput, flowAction, flowResults, claims, punchline, cta, url, tone (default | polished | chaotic | deadpan), theme (ink | paper | electric | noir | sand), fontDisplay (serif | sans | grotesk | mono). Example prompt: Use the project-to-launch skill to make a 20-second launch video for this project, polished tone, 16:9. Claude Motion prompt: Make a 20-second 16:9 launch video for [who will watch, e.g. people who keep house plants], playing [where, e.g. our landing page and X]. Use only the product name, lines, screenshot and numbers I give below; don't change a word or number. Scene 1: a two-line hook, the second line in the accent color. Scene 2: the logo and the one-line pitch. Scene 3: the app at work: a cursor types the example input, clicks the main button, and three results appear one by one. Scene 4: the proof number counts up. End frame: product name, tagline and a "Try it free" button, held for 2 seconds. Product: [name and what it does] (e.g. Plantpal, turns a photo of a leaf into a care plan) Hook: [two lines] (e.g. "Your plants" / "are not okay") Example input and results: [e.g. "Monstera, yellow leaves, droopy" → three care tips] Proof number: [e.g. "Knows 4,200 houseplants"] Attach: [a screenshot of your app] ### Explainer Director - Page: https://claude-motion.com/skills/explainer-director · Install: https://claude-motion.com/skills/explainer-director/install.md - premium · Explainer · hyperframes · 16:9, 9:16, 1:1 · 30–90s - Last checked: 2026-10-10 Writes or tightens the script with proven presets (myth → truth, how it works, listicle, number story), fact-checks every claim against your material, casts each beat to an animated shot in one shared look, shows a storyboard for approval, and renders an MP4 with music or your voiceover. 12 shots come bundled; edits re-render only the beats you change. Good fit: 30–90 second explainers from a script or voiceover; Combining many scenes in one consistent look. Not for: Live footage editing; Videos longer than a few minutes. Example prompt: Use the explainer-director skill on notes.md: a 45-second explainer, how-it-works preset, 9:16. Claude Motion prompt: Make a 30-second 16:9 explainer for [who will watch, e.g. our product and support teams], playing [where, e.g. the all-hands]. Use only the points and numbers in what I attach; don't add claims. One warm paper style throughout. Scene 1: a bold hook statement. Scene 2: a funnel that shows where people drop off. Scene 3: a three-step fix, one step at a time. End frame: a recap wall of the key points, held for 2 seconds. Topic: [your topic] (e.g. why docs lose customers) Attach: [your notes, doc or data] ### Data → Video - Page: https://claude-motion.com/skills/data-to-video · Install: https://claude-motion.com/skills/data-to-video/install.md - premium · Data · hyperframes · 16:9, 9:16, 1:1 · 20–40s - Last checked: 2026-10-15 Profiles your table (time series, funnel, breakdown, before and after), finds what is worth saying (the headline number, the biggest change, the biggest leak), drafts a shot plan from the real numbers, shows a storyboard, and renders an MP4 with counting numbers, animated charts and music. Every number on screen comes from your file, and the data never leaves your machine. Good fit: Monthly or quarterly results, milestones and dashboards as a short video; Turning one chart into a story people remember. Not for: Live dashboards that update by themselves; Tables with dozens of series in one chart. Example prompt: Use the data-to-video skill on revenue.csv: a 25-second results video for the team, 16:9. Claude Motion prompt: Make a 25-second 16:9 data video for [who will watch, e.g. investors], playing [where, e.g. the monthly update email]. Use only the numbers in the file I attach; don't round or change any of them. Dark ink style. Scene 1: the headline number counts up. Scene 2: a line chart across the period draws in, and the biggest jump is marked with a label. Scene 3: one takeaway sentence. End frame: the source of the data and our name, held for 2 seconds. Attach: [your CSV or spreadsheet] (e.g. monthly revenue, January to June) Takeaway: [one sentence, or ask Claude to suggest one from the data] ### Script → Short - Page: https://claude-motion.com/skills/script-to-short · Install: https://claude-motion.com/skills/script-to-short/install.md - premium · Social · hyperframes · 9:16, 1:1 · 10–20s - Last checked: 2026-10-15 Writes or tightens the script around a hook that is on screen in the first second, splits it into beats, times every beat for reading at speed, drafts a vertical shot plan (statements, numbers, lists, quotes, comparisons), shows a storyboard, and renders an MP4 with punchy music. Works in Chinese, Japanese and Korean too. Good fit: Faceless shorts from an idea, a post or a thread; Daily posting with one consistent look. Not for: Talking-head videos (use Animated Captions); Videos longer than about 30 seconds. Example prompt: Use the script-to-short skill on script.txt: a 15-second Reel, 9:16, punchy. Claude Motion prompt: Make a 15-second vertical 9:16 short for [who will watch, e.g. founders on TikTok and Reels], playing muted in the feed, so every point must read as words on screen. Use only the lines below, in this order; don't rewrite them. Black-and-white style, punchy pace. Scene 1: the hook slams in. Scene 2: the list of points, one per beat. Scene 3: a short quote from a user. Scene 4: the proof number counts up. End frame: the closing line, held for 1.5 seconds. Hook: [your hook] (e.g. "Stop editing videos by hand.") Points: [3 to 4 short lines] Quote: [a real user quote] Proof number: [e.g. "3x more views"] Closing line: [e.g. "Follow for the template"] ### Doc → Narrated Deck - Page: https://claude-motion.com/skills/doc-to-narrated-deck · Install: https://claude-motion.com/skills/doc-to-narrated-deck/install.md - premium · Narrated decks · hyperframes · 16:9 · 1–3 min - Last checked: 2026-10-12 The director for narrated decks. Your agent reads the document, plans one idea per slide, picks a matching deck style, writes the slides and the speaker script, checks every slide, records a local narration and exports a video. Works with any installed deck style, or the built-in Plain theme. Good fit: Turning a document into a narrated video deck; Courses, briefings and internal updates. Not for: Videos under a minute; Footage-based or cinematic videos. Example prompt: Use doc-to-narrated-deck on onboarding-guide.pdf: make a narrated training deck with a quiz every few slides, and export an MP4. Claude Motion prompt: Turn the attached document into a 90-second 16:9 narrated explainer for [who will watch, e.g. new hires], playing [where, e.g. the onboarding portal]. Use only the facts and numbers in the document. One idea per scene, with the key points appearing as they're spoken. Animate one chart for the main number. End on a closing scene with one clear next step. Attach: [your document] Next step: [e.g. "Book your first 1:1 with your manager"] ### Animated Captions - Page: https://claude-motion.com/skills/animated-captions · Install: https://claude-motion.com/skills/animated-captions/install.md - premium · Captions · hyperframes · 16:9, 9:16, 1:1 · Clip length - Last checked: 2026-10-10 A verbatim subtitle rail plus one cinematic peak word composited behind the speaker. Picks from a shortlist of proven caption styles per use case, refuses clips that would look bad, and checks readability before rendering. Runs locally: transcription and matting included, no API keys. Good fit: Talking-head clips for Reels, Shorts and TikTok; Podcast and interview highlights. Not for: Clips without clear speech; Full-length videos that need a professional subtitle file. Example prompt: Use the animated-captions skill on assets/founder-update.mp4. It's a B2B update, keep it calm and readable. Claude Motion prompt: Add captions to the attached [length, e.g. 30-second] talking-head clip for [who will watch, e.g. LinkedIn followers], playing muted in the feed. Use only the speaker's exact words; don't paraphrase. A clean white lower-third subtitle follows the speech word for word. When the speaker says the key phrase, its short form appears huge behind them, partly hidden by their shoulders, then fades. End frame: the last caption clears with the clip. Attach: [your clip] Key phrase and short form: [e.g. "ten times faster" → "10×"] ### Brand Motion Setup - Page: https://claude-motion.com/skills/brand-motion-setup · Install: https://claude-motion.com/skills/brand-motion-setup/install.md - premium · Brand · hyperframes · 16:9, 9:16, 1:1 · — - Last checked: 2026-10-15 A short two-part interview plus 3–5 reference frames become three files in your project: brand.md (who you are, what you promote, your assets), MOTION.md (colors, type, timing, how things move, five things never to do, with ASK ME wherever the frames don't say), and brand.json, the colors and fonts every Motion Skills template reads. A check script flags text or accents that won't read on your background and suggests a nearby color, and a read-first rule tells your agent to use all of it, every time. Good fit: Starting motion work for a brand; Making every skill's output look like yours. Not for: Designing a new brand from scratch; One-off videos with a different look. Example prompt: Use the brand-motion-setup skill to set up my brand. My site is fernleaf.studio and my reference frames are in examples/. Claude Motion prompt: Make a [length, e.g. 15-second] 16:9 [what, e.g. product teaser] for [who will watch], playing [where]. Use only the colors, fonts, logo and timing in the brand guide I attach; ask me about anything it doesn't cover. The guide sets the look, not the ambition: go all out within it. End frame: the logo and [call to action], held for 2 seconds. Attach: [your brand guide, logo and any motion rules] ### Product Launch Film - Page: https://claude-motion.com/skills/product-launch-film · Install: https://claude-motion.com/skills/product-launch-film/install.md - premium · Launch · hyperframes · 16:9, 9:16, 1:1 · 18s - Last checked: 2026-10-14 An 18-second launch film in four acts: a two-line hook, your screenshot rising in a browser frame with 3D tilt, three numbered features with a progress bar, and a logo end card with CTA. Accent wipes stitch the scenes. Good fit: Web product launches with a screenshot; Landing-page hero videos. Not for: Mobile-only apps; Very short social teasers. Inputs: product, hook, tagline, screenshot, features, logo, cta, url, theme (ink | paper | electric | noir | sand), fontDisplay (serif | sans | grotesk | mono). Example prompt: Use the product-launch-film skill for Orbit, our calendar app: hook "Meetings | that run themselves", tagline "Scheduling that respects your focus.", screenshot assets/app.png, features "Smart slots: Finds time without the back-and-forth. | Focus guard: Protects deep work. | Recaps: Notes and actions, automatically.", CTA "Try Orbit", url orbit.app. Claude Motion prompt: Make an 18-second 16:9 product launch film for [who will watch, e.g. product managers], playing [where, e.g. our homepage hero and X]. Use only the name, lines and screenshot I give below; don't change a word. Near-black background with a warm orange glow. Scene 1 (0–3.4s): a two-line hook rises from masks, line one off-white, line two orange, slowly pushing in. An orange wipe cuts to Scene 2: the product name and tagline on the left while a browser window with the screenshot rises from below with a 3D tilt and settles. Scene 3: three features one at a time, each with a huge orange numeral (01, 02, 03), a bold title and a gray description, with a segmented progress bar at the bottom. End frame: the logo mark spins in, then the name, an orange call-to-action pill and the URL. Hook: [two lines] (e.g. "Your roadmap" / "finally in motion") Product and tagline: [e.g. Northwind, one line] Features: [three titles with one-line descriptions] Call to action and URL: [e.g. "Start free", northwind.dev] Attach: [a screenshot of your product] ### Manus-Style Feature Film - Page: https://claude-motion.com/skills/manus-style-launch · Install: https://claude-motion.com/skills/manus-style-launch/install.md - premium · Launch · hyperframes · 16:9, 9:16, 1:1 · 25–60s - Last checked: 2026-10-17 A launch film modelled shot by shot on the Manus 2.0 Video Editor film. It follows one real example of the product's work all the way through: a wall of finished outputs, the example floating as layers, footage organized, shots generated, then the same card in the same place gaining captions, a tracked circle, a title, a map drawn by code, photos and sound, its layers lifting apart and composing into one video, the editor, and asking the agent. Big, tight lines whose key words turn blue as they sharpen out of a blur. Give it your website: your agent captures the page, writes every line from it, and the film runs as long as your material needs. Good fit: AI and creative tools with lots of examples to show; Feature launches with a playful, modern feel. Not for: Products with only one screen to show; Serious, formal announcements. Inputs: beats, pace (brisk | normal | calm), product, logo, icon, hook, wallLine, layersLine, features, tweakLine, askLine, outro, shot, stickers, screen, images, note, theme (ink | paper | electric | noir | sand), fontDisplay (serif | sans | grotesk | mono). Example prompt: Use manus-style-launch to make a launch film for https://your-product.com: follow one thing it made through its main features. Claude Motion prompt: Make a 55-second 16:9 launch film for [who will watch, e.g. creators following our launch], playing [where, e.g. X and YouTube]. Use only the product name, lines and images I attach; don't change a word. Style: pale grey #f6f6f6 canvas with a faint dot grid; huge, tight, heavy sans lines at the top or bottom of the frame ending with a full stop, one or two key words in bright blue #1f9bf6, each line sharpening word by word out of a blur. Brisk, expo easing, blur transitions, nothing bounces. Scene 1: "[Product] now makes" and a giant "[thing]." whose letters are filled with one of my images. Scene 2: a tilted wall of finished examples drifting sideways. Scenes 3–8: one example card floats in 3D while each feature acts on it in place, each with its own short line (organize, generate, caption, track, title, code, photos, sounds). Scene 9: the card's layers lift apart in 3D, then come together with a play button. Scene 10: a 2×2 grid of results, then the editor with "Edit it yourself." and "Or just ask [Product]." End frame: the logo sharpening out of a blur. Product: [name] (e.g. Manus 2.0 Video Editor) Feature lines: [six to eight short lines] (e.g. "Every video is made of layers.", "Circle it. It tracks.") Attach: [stills of your product and example outputs] ### Vertical Launch - Page: https://claude-motion.com/skills/vertical-launch · Install: https://claude-motion.com/skills/vertical-launch/install.md - premium · Launch · hyperframes · 9:16 · 15s - Last checked: 2026-10-14 Built for Reels, Shorts and TikTok: a scroll-stopping hook that pops in word by word with a highlighted phrase, a phone reveal, three numbered benefit beats and a pulsing CTA — with flash cuts between. Good fit: Reels, Shorts and TikTok launches; Mobile-first products. Not for: Landscape or website videos; Calm, premium launches. Inputs: hook, product, screenshot, beats, cta, handle, theme (ink | paper | electric | noir | sand), fontDisplay (serif | sans | grotesk | mono). Example prompt: Use the vertical-launch skill for our TikTok: hook "Your inbox, *finally* quiet", product "Hush", screenshot assets/phone.png, beats "Auto-sorts newsletters | Mutes threads | Daily digest", cta "Get Hush free", handle "@hushapp". Claude Motion prompt: Make a 15-second vertical 9:16 launch video for [who will watch, e.g. creators on Reels], playing muted in the feed. Use only the lines and screenshot I give below; don't change a word. Dark navy background with violet and teal glows. Scene 1: the hook pops in word by word with a bouncy scale, the last words on a violet highlight block. A black intro with the icon and the version, one huge word, a ticker rolling through what's new, then a chapter card (a small icon and a name) before each capability: the product at work in a window or a phone, over full-frame landscapes with frosted glass cards, montages of what it made. Then One More Thing, a crowd of mascots, and the logo among them. Quiet, small type with one or two words in blue. Give it your website: your agent captures the page, writes every line from it, and the film runs as long as your material needs. Good fit: Big releases with several new capabilities; AI products, platforms and apps with real screens to show. Not for: One feature in depth (use manus-style-launch); Products with no screens to show. Inputs: beats, pace (brisk | normal | calm), product, version, headline, tagline, icon, logo, note, theme (ink | paper | electric | noir | sand), fontDisplay (serif | sans | grotesk | mono). Good fit: Scheduling and productivity product demos; Explaining a change of plans. Not for: Month or year views; Showing a real calendar app's interface. Inputs: events, to, caption, theme (ink | paper | electric | noir | sand), fontDisplay (serif | sans | grotesk | mono). Example prompt: Use the calendar-reschedule skill: events "Tue 9-10: Sync | Tue 10-11: *1:1 with Sam* | Thu 15-16: Planning", to "Wed 16-17", caption "Conflicts fix themselves". Electric theme, 1:1. It isn't sold separately; it uses your plan's normal usage. It isn't listed for Free, Pro or Max. ## Which plans include Claude Motion | Plan | Claude Motion | |---|---| | Free | Not included | | Pro | Not included | | Max | Not included | | Team | Included in beta, **on by default** | | Enterprise | Included in beta, **off until an owner turns it on** | Availability can change while Motion is in beta. Anthropic's [help article](https://support.claude.com/en/articles/17454997-get-started-with-claude-motion) is the source of truth. ## How to turn it on (Enterprise) An organization owner goes to **Organization settings → Artifacts** and enables Motion. Enterprise owners can also limit access to specific groups with custom roles. Admins control whether animations can be shared outside the organization. ## How to check if you have it Open a chat and look for **Output → Motion** in the message box, or open the **Artifacts** tab and look for Motion templates. If neither is there, your plan doesn't include it or your admin hasn't enabled it. ## What it costs There's no separate price. Motion counts toward your plan's usage limits, and longer or more complex animations use more of your limit than a typical message. In practice: - Keep first drafts short (8–15 seconds), then extend. - Ask for specific edits ("change this number") rather than regenerating the whole animation. - Reuse a prompt that already works and swap in new words and numbers. ## If you don't have access You don't need Team or Enterprise to make this kind of video. Motion skills give a coding agent the same ability: - **Works with:** Claude Code (including on Pro and Max), Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI and other agents that read skills. - **How:** install a skill, give your agent your material, and it renders an MP4 on your computer with an open-source engine. - **Cost:** free skills need only a Google sign-in, no credits; the only usage is your agent's own. Start with [Motion Director](/skills/motion-director): it's free and makes a whole video from one sentence. For a specific kind of video, browse [Motion Launch](/launch), [Motion Creator](/creator) or [Motion Deck](/narrated-presentations), or copy a ready-made prompt from the [Claude Motion prompts page](/claude-motion-prompts). For a walkthrough of the feature itself, see [How to use Claude Motion](/learn/how-to-use-claude-motion). *This guide is independent and not affiliated with Anthropic. Claude is a trademark of Anthropic, PBC. Checked against Anthropic's announcement and help article on October 12, 2026.* Claude Motion is a beta feature Anthropic launched on October 8, 2026. You describe a short animated explainer, and Claude builds it as code that animates your text, charts, shapes and images. You can edit any word, number or timing, then export an MP4. It is not a video-generation model: there's no generated footage and no AI-generated people. ## Who can use it - **Plans:** Claude Team and Enterprise, in beta. On Enterprise, an owner has to switch it on in the organization settings. - **Not included (yet):** Free, Pro and Max plans. - **Good for:** a 30-second explainer of a quarterly report, motion on a board-deck chart, a product walkthrough for onboarding. The official announcement and help article are the source of truth for availability: [Anthropic's announcement](https://claude.com/resources/articles/dashboards-and-motion) and [Get started with Claude Motion](https://support.claude.com/en/articles/17454997-get-started-with-claude-motion). Plan-by-plan details and how to turn it on: [Claude Motion access & pricing](/learn/claude-motion-access-pricing). ## Writing a good Claude Motion prompt Anthropic's advice is short: say who will watch, where it will play and roughly how long it should be, and attach your own report, data or images. In practice that means four things: 1. **Who and where:** "for investors, in the monthly update" or "muted in the LinkedIn feed". 2. **Length and format:** "a 20-second 16:9 video". 3. **Your content only:** attach the report, data or images and say "use only this; don't change a number". 4. **Scenes in order, then the end frame:** what appears first, what moves, what the last frame shows. Every prompt on this site follows that pattern, with [brackets] for your own words and an example in each. Step by step, from first prompt to MP4: [How to use Claude Motion](/learn/how-to-use-claude-motion). Ready-made prompts with previews: [Claude Motion prompts](/claude-motion-prompts). ## Three things people call "Claude motion" 1. **Claude Motion**, the feature: Team and Enterprise, in claude.ai, built from your attached content, exported as MP4. 2. **Opus 5.5 in a plain chat or in Claude Code**, asked to write an animation as an HTML, Canvas or Three.js page. Most "Claude motion prompts" shared on X are this kind, including the showreel prompts. It works on any plan, but you record the page yourself to get a video. 3. **Third-party tools** with similar names. They aren't Anthropic products, and their prompts may not behave the same in Claude Motion. Our [prompts page](/claude-motion-prompts) labels each prompt with where it runs. ## If you don't have Team or Enterprise You can get the same kind of result from a coding agent you already use: 1. Install a motion skill in Claude Code, Codex or Cursor. 2. Ask your agent for the video in plain language. 3. The agent fills the template, checks it, reviews still frames and renders an MP4 on your machine with an open-source engine such as [HyperFrames](https://github.com/heygen-com/hyperframes). [Browse the skills](/skills) — free ones download after a free Google sign-in. ## Claude Motion vs. agent skills | | Claude Motion | Agent skills | |---|---|---| | Where it runs | claude.ai | Your coding agent and computer | | Plans | Team, Enterprise | Any agent that supports skills | | Editing | In Claude, as code | Variables, or edit the HTML/CSS | | Output | MP4 | MP4, MOV with transparency, GIF | | Repeatable templates | Prompt by prompt | Same template, new values every time | *This guide is independent and not affiliated with Anthropic. Claude is a trademark of Anthropic, PBC.* Claude Motion turns a description into a short animated video that Claude builds as code. This tutorial walks through making your first one, writing prompts that work, editing the result and exporting an MP4. It also covers how to get the same kind of video in Claude Code or Codex if your plan doesn't include Motion. ## Before you start Claude Motion is in beta on Claude **Team** and **Enterprise** plans. It's on by default for Team. On Enterprise, an owner has to turn it on first under **Organization settings → Artifacts**. If you're not sure whether you have it, see [Claude Motion access & pricing](/learn/claude-motion-access-pricing). ## 1. Start a motion There are two ways in: - **From a chat.** Describe the animation you want, for example "a 30-second explainer of our Q3 results for the all-hands". You can also pick **Output → Motion** in the message box so Claude knows you want an animation. - **From the Artifacts tab.** Open Artifacts, choose a Motion template, then describe what you want. Attach anything Claude should use: a report, a spreadsheet, a chart, screenshots or a logo. ## 2. Write a prompt Claude can follow Anthropic's own tip is to say who the audience is, where the video will play and roughly how long it should run, and to attach the material Claude should use. Write the prompt in that order: 1. A weak prompt: *"Make a video about our growth."* A prompt that works: *"Make a 20-second 16:9 video for investors, playing in our monthly update. Use only the numbers in the attached CSV; don't round them. A line chart of monthly active users draws on from left to right, and when it reaches June a callout pops in with the change since January. End frame: the June number, held for 2 seconds."* Our [Claude Motion prompts page](/claude-motion-prompts) has prompts written this way for launches, charts, tutorials and social clips, each with a preview and fields for your own details. ## 3. Edit the result Because the animation is code, you can change one detail without regenerating everything: - **Ask in the chat:** "Make the second scene a second shorter", "Change 38% to 41%", "Use our brand green". - **Edit directly** in the Motion editor. Change one thing at a time. It's easier to see what moved, and easier to undo. ## 4. Export and share Click **Export** and choose **MP4**. Animations are private by default; use **Share** to share one. Every animation is saved in your Artifacts tab, so you can come back and make a new version later. Anthropic also lists integrations for taking an animation further in tools like Adobe, Descript, Runway and Luma AI. ## What Claude Motion can't do Motion doesn't use a video-generation model. It won't create realistic footage or people. It's built for explainers, charts, product walkthroughs and launch clips: content made of text, numbers, shapes and images. ## No Claude Motion? Do it in Claude Code or Codex If you're on Free, Pro or Max, or you work in another agent, you can get the same kind of video with a motion skill: 1. Start with [Motion Director](/skills/motion-director), which is free, or pick a skill for a specific video from [Motion Launch](/launch), [Motion Creator](/creator) or [Motion Deck](/narrated-presentations). 2. Copy its install prompt into Claude Code, Codex or Cursor. 3. Give your agent your material. It fills the template, checks frames and renders an MP4 on your computer. Free skills download after a free Google sign-in. Each one also includes its matching Claude Motion prompt, so the same idea works in both places. *This guide is independent and not affiliated with Anthropic. Claude is a trademark of Anthropic, PBC. They differ in what the agent writes and in licensing. ## HyperFrames - **What you write:** HTML, CSS and GSAP timelines. Agents already write this fluently. - **Rendering:** a CLI (`npx hyperframes render`) drives headless Chrome and FFmpeg, frame by frame, deterministically. - **Built for agents:** `check` runs lint, runtime, layout, motion and contrast audits; `snapshot` captures still frames so the agent can look at its own work before rendering. - **License:** Apache 2.0, free for commercial use. [github.com/heygen-com/hyperframes](https://github.com/heygen-com/hyperframes) ## Remotion - **What you write:** React components, with frame-based hooks (`useCurrentFrame`). - **Strengths:** a mature ecosystem, great for data-driven and programmatic video at scale, and server-side rendering on Lambda. - **License:** free for individuals and companies with up to three people; larger companies need a [company license](https://www.remotion.dev/license). ## Which one we use Every skill in our first collection runs on HyperFrames. HTML and CSS keep templates readable and easy to edit by hand, the built-in audits catch layout problems early, and the Apache license means there's nothing extra to buy when you use a skill at work. If your team already builds with React and Remotion, the same motion ideas carry over. The craft (pacing, typography, easing, restraint) is what makes the video, not the engine. A skill is a folder with a `SKILL.md` file (instructions for the agent) plus templates and scripts. Install it once, and your agent uses it whenever a request matches. ## The fastest way: ask your agent Copy the install prompt from any skill page and paste it into your agent: ``` Read https:///skills//install.md and follow it to install the "" skill, then make a first video with it. ``` The agent reads the guide, asks you to download the archive in your browser, unzips it into the right folder and runs a first render. ## Manual install 1. Download the ZIP from the skill page. 2. Unzip it so the folder keeps its name (`/SKILL.md`): - **Claude Code:** `~/.claude/skills//`, or `.claude/skills//` inside a project - **Codex:** `~/.agents/skills//` - **Cursor:** `.cursor/skills//` inside the project - **Gemini CLI:** `~/.gemini/skills//` 3. Start a new agent session so it picks up the skill. ```bash mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills unzip -o ~/Downloads/kinetic-type-title.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/ ``` ## What you need on your machine - Node.js 22 or newer - FFmpeg (`brew install ffmpeg` on macOS) - Google Chrome (the renderer drives it headlessly) The HyperFrames CLI installs itself through `npx` the first time a skill renders. ## Using a skill Just ask: "Make a 9:16 title card that says *Ship faster, sleep better*." The agent copies the template, writes a `brief.json`, runs `hyperframes check`, looks at snapshot frames to catch layout problems, then renders the MP4 and tells you where it is. Several tools can turn your material into a video. They suit different people, and the honest answer is sometimes "not us". Here is how they compare, and when to pick which. ## At a glance | | Where it runs | What you get | Best for | |---|---|---|---| | **Motion Skills** | Your coding agent (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor), on your computer | Tested workflows and scenes that end in an MP4 | Animated explainers, launches, data stories and shorts from your own material | | **Claude Motion** | Inside Claude, on Team and Enterprise plans (beta) | A short animated explainer from a prompt | Teams already on those plans | | **HeyGen** | A web app | AI presenters, voices and translation | Videos with a talking presenter | | **Remotion on its own** | Your own React project | A framework; you build every scene | Developers who want full control or render at scale | | **Free open-source skills** | Your coding agent | Prompts and templates; quality varies | Trying an idea quickly, or a starting point to build on | ## HeyGen HeyGen is a browser app built around AI presenters: a person or avatar on screen, speaking your script in many languages. If your video needs a face and a voice, that's the right kind of tool. Motion Skills makes motion graphics instead (titles, charts, diagrams, captions and screen callouts), and doesn't make avatars. HeyGen also maintains HyperFrames, the open-source engine our skills render with. We're not affiliated with HeyGen. ## Remotion on its own Remotion lets you write video as React components, and it is excellent when you want total control or need to render thousands of personalised videos on a server. The cost is time: you design every scene, its timing and its layout for each format yourself. Larger companies also need a [company license](https://www.remotion.dev/license). Motion Skills hands your agent finished, tested scenes, so you describe the video instead of building it. ## Free open-source skills There are free agent skills for motion on GitHub, and some are good. Check what a skill comes with before you rely on it. Things we found matter for a video you can post: - **Tested themes and formats.** Layouts designed for 16:9, 9:16 and 1:1, not one frame squeezed into the others. - **Checks before rendering.** The agent looks at still frames, and a director workflow shows you a storyboard first. - **Sound.** Music and effects that fit the cut. - **Workflows.** Going from an article, a spreadsheet or a repository to a finished video, not just one scene. - **A clear license** for using the result at work. Our [standard](/standard) lists what every skill here has to pass. ## When to pick which - You need a talking presenter or dubbing: **HeyGen**. - You're on Claude Team or Enterprise and want a quick explainer: **Claude Motion**. - You're a developer building a video product or rendering at scale: **Remotion**. - You want to see what an agent can do, for free: a **free open-source skill**, or one of [our free skills](/skills?tier=free). - You want a finished, on-brand video from your own material, made in the agent you already use: **Motion Skills**. Start with a [workflow](/use-cases), and see [pricing](/pricing) for the premium scenes.
